Kafa Café – Street Coffee

In the past, there were only two types of street coffee in Hanoi. This is now different. In KAFA menu, coffee is more than the simple categories of black or brown, hot or iced but also covers the coconut coffee and the signature white coffee from Sai Gon. The coffee beans are selected from well-known regions, roasted in our own recipe for 18 minutes to bring you the dense, shiny coffee in cups that are typically Vietnamese.

Considering only two types of people in this world, I must be of the first type: always enjoy hiding myself in a corner, sipping my cup of coffee and fixing my eyes onto the laptop screen, trying to focus on work and probably munching some nice pretty food as well. The rest, which belong to the second type out there, are people in the world of simplicity, more casuality and of street coffee. Street coffee carries the vibe of peacefullness and lives in the life of Hanoian naturally. The classic names of Giang café, Bat Su café have been in the minds of people who have always been in love with and longing for a simple cup of brown coffee with condense milk…

Yet with the robust flow of a growing life and a diversified smoke-free industry, such stages of flavor and emotions are not an exception. They have to join in the move to adapt with the demand and interests of the fashionable and trendy generations. The time of simple black coffee cups is now the story of the past. People now need something more sophisticated, classy, and profound yet still maintains the soul, the vibe of street life that has been in the root of people’s minds, those who have been living their lives on this land of thousand-year-old culture. Kafa Café was born naturally like faith in the flow of life and time.

Kafa Café can be seen on the whole as a place where the old meets the new, the modernity and reminencence flows together. If I drop by Kafa and choose a peaceful corner for myself with my eyes to the street view, it usually does not take too much of my time to blend in the surprisingly familiar atmosphere here.
Such familiarity is not far from the breathtaking layout of the old Hanoi, as well as in the time of transition, innovation and a touch of newness. The modernity and classiness of the 4.0 era today is right close to your eyes. It is right in the main product – coffee beans, presented like a piece of ornament, delicate but still embraces the elements of rawness and simplicity, mingling with the space filled with the breath of time. The way each line of coffee beans is displayed here is not so difficult for you to associate with some high-end cofffeeshop chain – which sells fresh and delicious coffee lines.

Whether it is a sweet, cold, grinded coconut coffee or simply a rustic black-brown cup, it is not too hard for you to immediately feel the typical aroma flavor of coffee, and definitely it must be a line of typical arabica seeds with a little sour taste at the end of your tongue. That’s right, coffee has to switch and catch up with life time too. The days when people only knew how to sip in a bitter black robusta stone and could only fill such bitterness with a thick layer of sweetened condensed milk are already far away. Street coffee, thanks to that, also becomes more deeper, more gentle and attractive too.

If someone says that Hanoi is beautiful because of the love and poetry, Kafa is probably the same, because the entire space, drinks have already embraced the whole heart, love and soul of Ha Noi. Would you like to “Kafa” with me this weekend?
